Nerdy and the Greek update

The guys are working furiously at making this event as fantastic as they can. Yesterday some were to be measured for their makeovers. While I was hanging out in the room, there was little "small talk" and ALOT of business talk. Paddles were to be cut and preparation began on them for the auction. They are all getting tired, but all have such a high energy drive for this event. The fact that it got so huge so quickly has only encouraged them to make this the best they can as to not disappoint those watching their progress.

Hello all!!

Ok so most of you are probably wondering who I am and what I think I'm doing in this group. So being that Ben asked me to blog for the group I thought I should at least introduce myself to me "readers."

Today I saw something somewhat disturbing

I was taking a leak in the bathroom here outside the LUG office and I noticed a PUBE on top of the urinal I was using.

Now realize that we don't have any students here that are 8 feet tall who may have conceivably left this little goody by mistake, so this means that somebody purposefully PLUCKED this pube and left it there as though it were some work of art to be perused by all.

Dear Anonymous Pube Plucker,

There are doctors for what you do. Please visit one yesterday.

The latest diet fad

So I think my poor old mom might be reaching senility. Here's a story she just sent me:

I used to have a Labrador Retriever. I was buying a large bag of Purina at Wal-Mart one day and was in line to check out. A woman behind me asked if I had a dog (?).

On impulse, I told her no; I was starting The Purina Diet again, although I probably shouldn't because I'd ended up in the hospital last time. However, I had lost 50 pounds before I awakened in intensive care with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IVs in both arms.

libxpat.so.0 is ruing my life

I updated world on my gentoo box, only to leave the poor thing as a lifeless mess. Pretty much every package I have depends on libexpat.so.0 but the expat people have changed it to libexat.so.1, and the two are not really compatible. So I followed the instructions so relink stuff with a revdep-rebuild, but I have had very very limited success and my machine is now just about useless. At least I can still use fluxbox and xterm, but no pidgin, apache, firefox, gvim, or really anything else I would normally use works. Grrreeeaat.
