### Edit: Sadly enough, the trip's off. Not enough people were interested to make it worthwhile. ###
Who's up for a rafting trip during the peak of summer, when it's hotter outside than when the cooling went offline in the server room, when the sun's blazing down so brightly you wish it had an anti-glare screen protector, and you can feel yourself baking like you've had one too many Monster drinks?
I thought so! Hey, where you going?
The proposed date is mid July and we'll be going up to Clark Fork*. Jen says that she can get us a good deal for a guide there. The river is a Class 3, which basically means that it's the mild sauce.
UPDATE: Jen's contact at Clark Fork isn't working this summer, so we're looking around for other places. I've put markers for two possibilities on the map. The red marker is where IEEE goes each year. The cost is about $80/person and it's a 144 mile, 2.5 hour trip from Pullman. The blue marker is Polson, MT, which is 282 miles or 5 hours from Pullman and about $45/person. Assuming 24mpg and $4.10 gas (!!!!) the round trip costs are about $50 or $100 per car. We aren't committed to either of these. If you know a better place, post a comment or let me know.
Please post a comment or get back to me. Let me know if the time frame works and let me know if you can pony up a hundred bucks for the trip or if we need to dip into LUG funds to help people out.
Also, the trip itself will probably be just one day, but we'll also camp in the area. That's why I've blocked out the whole weekend :-)
